The FAIHG Honing Guide is a sharpening jig for restoring the cutting edge of straight-edged chisels, bevel-edged chisels and plane irons from 3mm to 67mm wide. Used in conjunction with an oil, water or diamond sharpening stone, the guide holds the blade at a precise, repeatable angle so the bevel is sharpened consistently with each stroke. Inner jaws are for chisels (30mm projection gives 30°, 40mm gives 25°); outer jaws are for plane irons (38mm gives 30°, 50mm gives 25°).
